Checked October 27, 2026 against Candy AI's Terms of Service and the FAQ on its homepage. Plan prices are from Candy's subscriptions page, checked October 26, 2026 (US).
Short answer: signing up for Candy AI is free, but chatting is only free for a moment. Candy's Terms of Service say free users “may generally send a maximum of 5 messages” to AI characters, and that further use needs a subscription. There's no lasting free tier and we found no free Premium trial. The cheapest way to keep using it is the yearly plan: $47.88 up front, or $3.99 a month.
What a Free Candy AI Account Gets
- An account: the site's “Join Free” and “Create Free Account” buttons don't ask for payment.
- About 5 messages in total, per the terms. That's enough to see how a character writes, not to judge memory or roleplay.
- No monthly tokens. Tokens come with paid plans (“generally 100 per month”, per the terms) and pay for images, voice notes and video.

“Free Candy AI” Hacks and Mods
Search results for a free Candy AI often lead to “premium unlocked” APKs, token generators or shared logins. None of these come from Candy. At best they don't work; at worst they're malware or a stolen account that gets closed. Candy's FAQ says you don't need to install anything at all, since it runs in the browser, so treat any download offering free Premium as a red flag.

Is Paying Worth It?
If you'll use Candy for more than a few weeks, the yearly plan is the cheap way in: $47.88 is less than four months of the monthly plan. If you're unsure, pay $9.99 for one month, decide, and switch to yearly if you stay.
