Kindroid Review: Deep Memory, No Longer Free

Verdict: Kindroid is for people who want a highly customizable companion with long memory, voice and video calls. It's no longer a free app. Kindroid retired its unlimited free Lite tier on October 1, 2026, and new accounts now get a short preview. Standard costs $13.99 a month or $139.99 a year on the web, less than in the app stores. Official site: kindroid.ai.

Kindroid's own totals: Standard plus Ultra is $38.98 a month on the web, and all three tiers come to $98.97 a month. Its help center now says you'll see the exact price for your country and platform at checkout, so check current pricing before paying.
Free Preview and Trial
- New account preview: 50 messages on the flagship model (15 in some regions), up to 5 selfies, 5,000 audio credits and up to 2 Kindroids. After that the account turns read-only. You can still view and export everything, but you can't send messages.
- 3-day trial: gives most subscriber features but needs a payment method, and it converts into a paid plan unless you cancel. On the web it also needs a verified phone number. Kindroid emails a reminder one day before it converts.
- The preview doesn't come back. Starting a trial or subscription ends it permanently, and deleting your account doesn't reset it.
What Subscribers Get
From Kindroid's help center: unlimited access to its newest flagship models, longer short-term memory, "Cascaded Memory", 10 Kindroids and 20 group chats, voice and video calls, custom voices, monthly audio credits, daily selfie rewards, selfies and videos, and proactive messages. Ultra and MAX mainly buy more memory (context).
Cancelling and Refunds
- Web: Profile, then Billing, then Kindroid Standard Subscription, then Manage. Ultra and MAX are cancelled separately under their own entries.
- App Store or Google Play: cancel in that store's subscription settings.
- Cancel Standard and the add-ons stop working. If Standard lapses, the account goes read-only even if Ultra or MAX is still billing. Cancel the add-ons too.
- Refunds: case by case, generally none. Kindroid says it may ban users who dispute charges.
- Coming back: the first time a subscription lapses, Kindroid may offer 50% off your first month back, once.
Pros and Cons
Pros: strong memory features; web prices undercut the app stores; clear published billing rules.
Cons: no ongoing free tier since October 1, 2026; the trial needs a card; add-ons get expensive fast; refunds are rare.
